More info

Unique letter opener fabricated from old-fashioned bobbins, once fitted onto the flying shutter of industrial looms and used to weave wool in the commercial Mill, which operated some 50-60 years ago in the village of Ilnsbridge, near Huddersfield in the County of Yorkshire. Exposure of the metal sleeve, located at the base of the bobbin, triggered a magic eye. This, in turn, stopped the loom so that the bobbin could be replaced. They are about 80 years old and were once an integral part of looms operated in Grape Mill, Haslingden, County Lancashire. Now is your chance to own this unique little piece of history. The original bobbin is the secure handle and the end has been elegantly carved into the letter opener.
